More Locus news

Myths for the Modern Age: Philip José Farmer's Wold Newton Universe got a shout out in the March 2006 issue of Locus as a New and Notable Book! You can also see it at Locus Online.

Also, the Bison Books website is now listing the new edition of Tarzan Alive as available. It's still not listed as shipping from Amazon, but hopefully soon.

Hi Win,

I am just reading your book. My wife thinks I am crazy now, too 'they are not real,' she says. 'Why do the relations matter? They are just alternate histories and futures'.

'So are B5 and Star Trek,' I say, why do you like those?

Got a funny look and a bit of a lightbulb then, I think. :)

Very nice work, and I love the Modesty Blaise on the cover!

I have long been interested in superhero type fiction, but I hadn't come across your stuff on the web until last year some time, I think, although I had seen and read the odd Farmer book before, your Peerless Peers, etc.

Before then, I had been making a list of 'super' type stuff - if you have any suggestions, be happy to hear them.

Hi Richard,

Thanks very much, I'm glad you're enjoying the book! The cover art still blows me away; John Picacio is a major talent.

Glad your wife is starting to "get" it; Wold Newton just another universe/mythos to play and have fun in. :-)

Nice list! Glad to see Tarzan Alive (do you have the new edition?) and the Tales of the Shadowmen books on it. ;-)

Best,

Win

Win,

No, I have the 'orangey' paperback version of Tarzan Alive.

The Shadowmen ones I do not have yet, here, things like that are a bit more rare and a fair bit more expensive, unfortunately. One day, though. :)

Cheers,

Richard
