THE INVADERS - Wold-Newtony crossover request in lettercol

Way back in 1978, my pal and fellow contributor to MYTHS FOR THE MODERN AGE: PHILIP JOSÉ FARMER'S WOLD NEWTON UNIVERSE, Art Bollmann, wrote a letter to THE INVADERS which appeared in issue 33 (click for larger image). Yes, the Merry Marvelites misspelled his last name as "Hollmann" when they printed the letter, but we all know it's him. ;-)

way to go Art! Marvel definitely had the rights to Doc & Fu back then (Roy had a hand in the Thing meeting Doc Savage in Marvel Two-in-One only 2 issues after Ben's epic time-travel jaunt with the Liberty Legion against Brain Drain - written by RT himself.. that a killer story!.. and Fu Manchu appeared in Iron Man around this same time), but i don't blame Roy's fellow editors for being a bit over-cautious. well, ok, i guess i do...

Thanks. I sometimes wonder if Roy remembers me.
It was definitely great to see this. The Invaders was one of my favorite comic series, and I hadn't thought of it in years. (My other fave was the Don Newton Phantom, and I was astonished when I found Win's siteand saw that he ahd the "Mali Ibex" story from that run. I thought I was the only one who had ever read it.

Art, by coincidence, tomorrow's pic o' the day is scheduled to be a Don Newton cover of The Phantom.
