Letter from Philip José Farmer to DC Comics TARZAN Lettercol

Phil never did reveal Tarzan's true identity in 1982. Something else to investigate... ;-)

I enjoyed the letters. Not just PJF, but Lupoff as well. (Lupoff played an important role in introducing me to ERB

What a terrific page of letters.

I'm not so sure Phil didn't reveal his identity, or at least that of his father, sometime in the mid-1980s. But I'm saving that for an article if there's ever a second volume of Wold Newton material I can submit it to. It might be called "Farmer's Greatest Secret," an allusion to Phil's original title to THE DARK HEART OF TIME.

CPC, I'd love to read that article, I know it would be a winner...

I have not abandoned the idea of MYTHS 2 -- not at all. In fact, i have a great set of baseline contents already mapped out (with room for a few more of course, such as "Farmer's Greatest Secret" :-) . It's just a matter of finding the time to shop it. ;-)

This is one of the comics I actually have in my collection. Dad bought it for me when it originally came out, but at that age I rarely paid much attention to the letters pages in comics. Interesting to think how I might have discovered PJF even earlier if I had been...
