Interesting how this paperback company tried to look like a Fawcett Gold Crest.

I googled Monarch books and they seemed to have specialized in this particular type of spicy pulp material.

Although the subject matter does seem out of date for the time period but I read a forties private eye novel by John Evans (Howard Browne) named Halo in Brass that dealt with this subject matter

Toby, yeah, it's not *all*about Wold Newton... I have a great love for these old pulp and paperback covers, whether or not they are in the WNU... ;-)

Dennis, I'd be interested in learning more about the private eye novel you mentioned.
