This is probably my favorite of the Star Trek novels. It was good enough IMHO to be a stand alone sci-fi story. It is a story told from the viewpoint of the Klingons very early in the Star Trek timeline. The chess game depicted on the cover is between a Klingon and an adolescent Spock.

This is a must read for Star Trek fans and highly recommeded to sci-fi fans in general.

Art, you and I have the same taste. This is, hands down, the best Star Trek novel ever written.

I'll have to check to see if this is in the Toobworld Central library. But I'm thinking I remember this, vaguely.... Was there a Klingon whose name was Kiley or some other Celtic sounding name?
