Er... gulp. Time to start boning up on my sitting-on-the same-panel-with-sf-luminaries-and-trying-not-to-say-something-stupid-fu.
WOW, you are all over the place. Everyone will know your name by the end of the weekend, I bet you can't wait. I've seen, and heard on geekerati, you speak in public several times now and I'll know you'll do great.
ReplyDeleteMike, thank you very much for the encouragement. Being on panels with folks like those, I'm going to need it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope to spread the word about FARMERPHILE and perhaps even sell a few copies, so let's talk about which issues I should bring along!
Sounds like a fun con, Win. Have a great time.

re: Farmerphile: the one with my art in it!:)
ReplyDeletecongrats man. is this yr first time as like an official "guest" (vice pro &/ or panel presentation) at a comix con? if so (and even if not..) CONGRATULATIONS my dear friend! i'll try to take a little survey of the Comicbook Artits Guild & see if anyone's going & hype you! i doubt many would go, as most are the proverbial starving NYC artists who can't afford to fly.. but hey, it's worth a shot.
re: yr current reading - i haven't all of the Lauren Willis series, but the 2 i have read were great.
HC
Thanks Bobby!
ReplyDeleteHenry, thanks amigo, yes, it will be the first time on discussion panels, as opposed to more prepared presentations such as ComicCon and NASFIC/Archon (although I also am giving a short "tight focus" prepared presentation on Wold Newton).
ReplyDeleteI read and enjoyed the first two Willig book, this is the third. I'll let you know how it is!
Hopefully I can bring at least a full run of FARMERPHILE. :-)
Is T. Powers... Tim Powers?
ReplyDeleteI would be definitely be tie tongued if I was on the same panel with him, although I have heard he can be personable.
Good luck on the panel.
Yes, it's Tim Powers... and Connie Willis. At least I've read stuff by each of them. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good luck wishes, I'm going to need it. :-)
Connie Willis and Tim Powers! They are my favorite two contemproary Scifi authors.
ReplyDeleteConnie Willis' "To Say Nothing of the Dog" is a time-travel story that much like a 1960s screwball comedy. It was a personal favorite of mine.
And Tim Powers "Declare!" is in a class by itself.
I'm envious.
Art Sippo
Art, thanks. Connie Willis is quite funny and has a lot of presence. Tim Powers' THE ANUBIS GATES is one of my favorites.
