My intordution to the Baroness was a quick line in an article serial vigilantes; Toatlly formulised gimmick melodrama born of Modesty Blaise and Doc Savage, but sexier.
I knew at that second I had to read this series. My wold newtony mind boggled at the idea of Doc Savage and Modesty Blaise having a kid.
Brad, I've read the first three so far. Definitely formulaic, and I couldn't read them serially, but good dirty fun. Although I was a little disappointed at the brutality and lack of depth in the third book. What do I expect, though, right? ;-)

ReplyDeleteI picked up...6 of the 8? Something like that...back in high school. Better than I expected on the actual secret-agenty front.
ReplyDeleteNeed to dig them out and see which ones I'm missing.
I'd say it's definitely worth filling in the gaps -- at least for people with tastes like ours. ;-)
