So, no sooner do I blog that the corrections are done, and all that remains is to eagerly anticipate the cover art by Glen Orbik, than the cover magically shows up today!
To say I'm pleased would be a gross understatement. To quote my good friend, Brad Mengel, I am so happy!
The cover is reminiscent of those magnificent '70s paperback Gothics...which in fact is exactly what The Evil in Pemberley House is--except for the paperback part. ;-)

Oh man, that is great. When I was a kid my mother read dozens and dozens of Gothic Romance novels, which I referred to as 'girl running away from house books.' As you say, this cover is right in line with those. Really looking forward to the book.
Charles, thanks -- I am absolutely thrilled!
"Girl running away from house books" --that's hilarious! :-)
I agree, the cover looks great. I, too, am reminded of books my mother read AND that i then read, having an eclectic and insatiable reading appetite as a youth. I have fond memories of Mary Stewart, Victoria Holt, Mary Roberts Rinehart. Will EVIL be reminiscent of those books? I have EVIL on pre-order with Amazon.
EVIL follows the Gothic structure and traditions (to a point), but this is a Philip Jose Farmer novel, so it's safe to say that it has a Farmarian stamp which blows many of those conventions out of the water...

Thanks!
Orbik's work is great, and I love this cover. I have the book on order, too.
James, thanks so much! I have a book with an Orbik cover on order too... Hmm, what's that again? Oh yeah, it's HUNT AT THE WELL OF ETERNITY by Gabriel Hunt and James Reasoner. Can't wait! :-)
Absolutely splendid, Win!
Could that possibly be any sweeter? Very very nice.
I wholeheartedly agree, thanks Bill. :-)
This cover has achieved the impossible - it has made me want Evil in Pemberley House even more!
Fantastic, Brad! :-)
