I just bought some Harlequin books... WTF?

I was in a local independent bookstore today scouting out copies of Hard Case Crime books to add to my collection, since news broke that Dorchester is going digital. Didn't find any additional HHC books... but instead found these!

"Dangerous Dames! Exotic Romps! Cold-Blooded Murder - 1950s Style!"

Why the heck didn't I know about these Harlequin Vintage books?

Never underestimate the power of brick-and-mortar bookstores with the covers turned out on the shelves.

Tales of the Shadowmen 7: Femmes Fatales

I'm thrilled to announce that my short story "Nadine's Invitation" has been accepted by publisher Jean-Marc Lofficier for the annual anthology Tales of the Shadowmen. The upcoming volume is the 7th in the series, with the subtitle Femmes Fatales.

My tale is an entry in my "Road to Would Newton" series which kicked off with last year's Scarlet Pimpernel story "Is He in Hell?" (appearing both in
Tales of the Shadowmen 6: Grand Guignol and slightly revised and expanded in The Worlds of Philip José Farmer 1: Protean Dimensions (Meteor House).

Tales of the Shadowmen 7: Femmes Fatales is due out at the end of this year, or very early 2011.

THE GREEN HORNET CASEFILES and teaser cover art!

That's right, folks you heard it here!

Moonstone Books' follow-up to
The Green Hornet Chronicles is titled The Green Hornet Casefiles and will feature more great stories featuring the fabulous '60s version of The Green Hornet and Kato.

Rubén Procopio's cover is all kinds of awesome
, effectively teasing the mysterious and thrilling tales to be found on the pages between the covers. Many thanks for his permission to repost the cover here; you should also check out Rubén's original post!

And...surprise! The alternate cover by none other than Michael Wm. Kaluta!

I am already hard at work on editing the stories, along with my co-editor, Joe Gentile. The book is due out in April 2011.

In the meantime, don't forget that volume one, The Green Hornet Chronicles, is coming any day now!

Green Ghost interview on All Pulp!

As part of All Pulp's Moonstone Mondays, I and my co-writer Eric Fein were interviewed today on All Pulp, covering the Green Ghost for Moonstone's Return of the Originals; there are also several other Originals interviews.

Many thanks to the fine folks All Pulp for his time and interest.

Just go here and scroll down to the headline:
WIN SCOTT ECKERT AND ERIC FEIN,
Writers of THE GREEN GHOST, for RETURN OF THE ORIGINALS, Moonstone

Then please get out there and bug your local comics retailer to buy and stock plenty of Moonstone pulp comics and prose anthologies. :-)
